Inspiration

This is the bike that got me into all of this. I was wrenching on it one afternoon when I sheared off a bolt, and instead of panicking, I cut new threads. That moment of realizing oh, you can just cut metal unlocked something. If you can cut metal, you can reshape it. If you can reshape it, you can build with it.

The Cross-Check already had good bones. I wanted to repaint it properly — not a rattle-can refresh, but a real paint job that made it a genuine 1-of-1. A Surly no one else has. That project led to the next one, and the next one, and here we are.
