Bicycles

Bicycle building is a very humbling and gratifying experience. I have more int the works that I can't wait to share. I hope you enjoy them.

We do it for the kids

This is the Civic. It was built for my son, who does in-fact, have a wild infatuation with the Honda Civic. This bicycle represents the first frame built by me, without the watchful eye of a master frame builder and teacher. I thought my first bike Lessons was aptly named, but being able to “create your own learning opportunities” is a different experience in the humbling nature of bicycle frame building.

Greenman

A special gravel adventure bicycle.

The Green Man was dreamed and schemed up over beers at the Bike Bar in Ithaca, as a gravel grinder and all road machine for a good friend of mine. The actual concept of “the Green Man” came from a deep connection to the outdoors, and the heart of a bicycle as a tool to experience and connect with the natural environment.

All dreams start somewhere

This bicycle is called Lessons. I thought of the name the thirteenth time or so I walked into my kitchen, sighed deeply, then optimistically said, "Well I learned another valuable lesson." Perhaps the biggest lesson building this bicycle has taught me is gratitude in the opportunity to pursue this crazy dream. I have fallen so in love with this process that each misstep along the way didn't lead to frustration, but a lesson of how to improve and learn. For the first time in a heap of years, I'm creating something that I can hold, understand, and be proud of.
